OFST020002 – Financial Instrument Type of Identification Code

Codification chosen to identify the financial instrument. This field is intended exclusively for use in regulatory and industry reporting transmissions, such as those defined by FinDatEx, and must be used in conjunction with field OFST020001 "Financial Instrument Identifying Data".

One of the options in the following closed list to be used. The openfunds field referenced in brackets indicates the identifier value that is expected when the corresponding identification code is selected (e.g. if "1" is selected, the value reported in OFST020001 "Financial Instrument Identifying Data" must equal the value stored in OFST020000 "ISIN").

1 - ISO 6166 for ISIN code (OFST020000 ISIN) 2 - CUSIP (OFST020005 CUSIP) 3 - SEDOL (OFST020040 SEDOL) 4 - WKN (OFST020015 WKN) 5 - Bloomberg Ticker (OFST020020 Bloomberg Code)) 6 - BBGID* (no openfunds equivalent) 7 - Reuters RIC (OFST060010 Reuters Code Of Listing) 8 - FIGI (OFST020025 FIGI Code) 9 - Other code by members of the Association of National Numbering Agencies 10 - LEI (OFST010030 LEI Of Fund) 11 - Aggregated Class of products (no openfunds equivalent, Aggregated Class of products is a feature created for Amafi / French structured products market and is only listed in the European Feedback Template (EFT)). 99 - Code attributed by the undertaking

*As per FinDatEx EET V.1.1.3, BBGID (the Boomberg Global ID) is no more used and has been replaced by 8 - FIGI. However, as other FinDatEx templates still list this option, openfunds keeps it in the list for compatibilty reasons.

This field is not intended for data storage. For storage purposes, openfunds recommends maintaining identifiers in their dedicated identifier fields, as a single fund or share class is typically associated with multiple identifiers simultaneously (e.g. OFST020000 ISIN, OFST020005 CUSIP, OFST020010 Valor, OFST020015 WKN, etc.).

FundsXML 4 mapping

FundsXML 4.2.11 has no element for this field. The converter keeps the value as CustomAttributes/Attribute named OF_OFST020002 on the share class (or position), so FundsXML → openfunds restores it unchanged.

The field mapping table lists every field; openfunds to FundsXML explains the rules behind it.
